Executive Leadership for Women in Parks and Recreation
The 2010 Certificate Program has been created exclusively to help foster professional development in women holding leadership positions at parks and recreation agencies. Anyone working with volunteers, other staff, or in a management position will reap the benefits of this strong and creative curriculum. Speakers include a line-up of celebrated women in the field. Topics range from the history of women in parks and recreation to budgeting and strategic planning, and from difficult conversations to communicating with the media and in unique situations.
Students will participate in a series of discussions generated by expert speakers and complete a case study in a small group environment. Not only are participants treated to exclusive speakers and a diverse curriculum, but they are also granted time to attend some of the sessions available to the other Institute delegates. The end of the course culminates in a set of presentations that factor in the strategies learned throughout the week.
