Garrett G. Eppley Scholarship
Purpose: To provide stimulation and motivation for encouraging park and recreation professionals to continue their education by participating in the Great Lakes Park Training Institute.
Eligibility: Any person currently employed full time in a park and recreation agency. Scholarships are rotated annually between state park employees and state recreation association members. Even years the scholarship will be awarded to state recreation association members and odd years to state park employees. Candidates are asked to respond to a question on why they would like to attend GLPTI and how they think it will help them in their future career endeavors. The entire application must be filled out to be considered for the award.
Award: The award will cover the cost of full registration, meals and lodging, mileage continuing and education units (if applicable).
Recipients will be expected to arrange for their own transportation to the Institute and arrange for a leave of absence from their employer.
Application: To apply for the scholarship candidates should download the application form of the GLPTI website. An employer may nominate staff persons by the same process.

Applications must be received by December 1, 2008.
After evaluation by the Institute Assistant Director and the board of regents scholarship and awards committee, the applicants will be notified in January as to the award winners for the Institute held in February.
